Everyone has a name. Names are important. All of us deeply appreciate those
who know our names and can call us by our names.
Does God know your name? Does whether God knows your name make any
difference? The Bible tells us that God has a book of names, called the book of
life. If our names are not in the book of life, this means Jesus does not know
us. Unless our names are written in that a book, we will hear Jesus say, "I
never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!" (Matthew 7:23) If you
want your name written the the book of life read on to learn how to become a
Christian.
Read the following and put your name in the blanks as you read:
"For God so loved"______________. God loves each
person in the world, and He loves you. He loves you so much "that he
gave his one and only Son" (John 3:16). That Son is Jesus. God's only Son
came and died on a cross for you to save you from your sin.
That if ______________"believes in him" (Jesus).
"Believe" means that, convicted of your sin by the Holy Spirit, you
repent by turning away from sin toward God and place your faith in Jesus as
Savior and Lord (Acts 3:10). God forgives you when you place your faith in Him.
_______________"shall not perish, but have eternal life" (John
3:16).
If you do what God's Word says, your name will be written in the book of life
and you will have the abundant life Jesus promised to those who follow Him (John
10:10). The Bible also says, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord
will be saved." (Romans 10:13). Will you pray right now and ask Jesus to
save you? If so, tell God in prayer that you know you are a sinner. Repent of
your sin, ask Him to forgive you, and ask Jesus to save you right now.
