Mission Trip

SonPower 2006
June 25 - July 2
Austin, TX

Purpose of the trip: 
1)  To work with the Austin Baptist Association in service and evangelism efforts in the city of Austin.

2)  To sing with students from approximately twenty other churches at SonPower. 

The singing portion of this trip is an event put together by Lifeway each year for student choirs.  There are two locations, Orlando and Austin.  The mornings and evenings are spent in Bible study, worship, and rehearsals.  During the middle of the day groups can choose to participate in missions work or other free time activities.  At the end of the week the students are recorded as they perform each of the twelve songs that have been learned.  This recording is then licensed as the listening CD when the music is sold to churches all over the world.

Sunday, June 25th:
      12:45pm   Meet at the church for final         

                        loading
        1:15pm   Roll-out; rest stops along the way
        9:00pm   Stop at FBC Pauls Valley, OK for

                        sleep

Monday, June 26th: 

         7:30am    Wake up, clean up, eat up
         8:30am    Leave Pauls Valley, OK
         3:00pm    Arrive in Austin, TX; check-in,

                          register, unwind
  4:30-6:00pm   “Worship Arts” Auditions
  7:30-8:30pm   Welcome and Rehearsal
8:45-10:00pm   Matthew West in Concert

        10:15pm   Group Devotion
        11:00pm   In Yo’ Room
 

Tuesday, June 27th:
  8:30-9:45am    Use Those Vocal Cords!
9:45-10:45am    Praise & Bible Study
        11:30am    Lunch at work site 12:00-5:00pm   Paint the Church!

          5:00pm   Supper at work site
          5:45pm   Clean-up at hotel
